To Another Blog...

THIS is especially for you, Mom. It will give you the best dreams. And you might hate me and my blog for a while. But it was written by Karen of The Art of Doing Stuff!

Wedding Cake

Tom had to leave really early yesterday morning to take his GRE test in Pocatello and so he woke me at 5:30 to pray. Now, I'm not a morning person. Not a morning person at all. But something I've noticed this week is that it's really easy to get out of bed early when my mouth is in pain. I love pain medication.

So I finished the bridal shower card.
I like this card more the wedding card. That one was a copy and this one was completely my ideas. Except I got the "for the bride to bee" from the bridal shower invitation (see last post).
I was going to put this Victoria's Secret present after the dots but right before I was going to glue it down Tom moved it and said it would look better without it. He was right. The present makes it a little too fun and pink. But now it's more formal and still a little fun. Especially with that awesome cake.

My work space. One day it'll be a whole room! :D

This is what Tom just did. :)
It's awesome. One day when I make some journals I think this would be a good cover for them.

Love Birds

I just made this card for Whitney. She's getting married August 21st.

I found the idea online.. so it's just a copy card.

Some of Tom's sisters and I are all pitching in to get her some lingerie for her bridal shower. I've been asked to make the card for that. It should be fun. Coming soon..

This is Whitney's clever wedding invitation made by her and her mom.
It ties the knot as you open it!

And here is the bridal shower invitation that Missy made.
"A wedding! I love weddings, drinks all around!"

Tease

Yesterday I ate a whole peach by myself. Here's how I did it:
Mmmm Hmm

And here is a little teaser of something I'm working on right now.
What is that? A burger? A clam? Hm.

And here is a picture of me to make me feel better about posting that half chipmunk one yesterday.
I know it's weird I even have a picture like this of myself on my computer. It's a white one.

Vacation

No eyebrows and that's not food in my cheek

This past week my body has not been very happy with me.

Around Thursday I got a cold sore to the side of my mouth. It's just scabs now but those things are annoying. AND "I'M ON VACATION!" (what movie?) It may have been from running outside in the sun or too much sun before my work out.
I love that hour that I got to spend with Tom from 1 to 2 everyday while he worked those two 40-hour work weeks. We sit in the bleachers then I walk him back up to work and I work out. He rides his bike there and back home. This week is different. 8-12:30 :D
Or maybe my cold sore was from the dentist again.. just visiting with them stresses me out. HA.

Saturday was fast Saturday which my body always hates. :/ Dodging the lightening.. I started getting a head ache around 8 or 8:30 and then before my shower I had a spot in my eyes like when you look at a light and then there's that black spot. That's what happens to me before a migraine comes but the spot moves and this time it moved to cover my whole eye like what happens before you pass out if you've experienced that. Prayers. Scriptures. Migraine. Horrible night's sleep. I couldn't fall asleep forever and then I kept waking up what seems like every maybe 20 minutes or so.

Church was lovely. I conducted Relief Society with my shaky shaky hands but it went well. We had like 13 girls there. For dinner we had tacos with homemade tortillas.

And then

DU DU DUUUNN

Yesterday my wisdom teeth came out and it wasn't such a bad experience in the chair. Tom was back there to watch and Dr Hacking was telling us funny stories like about him chasing his cat around until it dropped from exhaustion. And apparently mosquitoes don't have lactic acid or something so they just go go go and then drop dead. They can fly constantly for about 2 hours before they just die..
His first patient he ever pulled a tooth from was really scared and so was he and his partner but it went well and thank goodness she never asked if she was his first. The second guy he pulled a tooth from did ask if he was Dr. Hacking's first tooth pull but he could say no. He didn't ask if he was his second.

So he gave me a pill.. Well at first he was just about to get started and I said "Aren't you going to give me a pill or something before you poke me?"  "No one gave you the pill? Oh." It was funny but I was definitely not on the pill because I was not calm. Anyway I got the pill and we had to wait forever for it to kick in. I forget the name. Tom knows it. But it's supposed to make you really calm and relax all your muscles and they give it to people with anxiety problems. Of course I never felt it go into effect so he just started and said he was going to go nice and slow and told me to raise my hand if I hurt or want to take a break. The hardest part was not being able to swallow. The roof of my mouth seemed to swell up really big and I panicked a little because I couldn't breathe through my mouth very well.
The top teeth were really easy. My bottom tooth that was showing a little wasn't too bad and took a little longer and it "ached" when they were pulling it out but stopped right after. The dentist kept calling me all tough because I didn't flinch at the needle when I was being numbed and I wanted to keep going and get it over with. The fourth tooth took the longest because it hadn't even poked up yet. He cut the side of my gum to get a better view so that he did a better job and cut the top to get to the tooth. He had to shave some of it off because it was being stubborn and didn't want to come out. That noise was a joyful experience. Then it took a while because one of the roots was twisted so it didn't want to come out. It ended up coming out in three pieces but he said that's how most people have their wisdom teeth out. In pieces but only one of mine had to be broken. It ached when he pulled it up every time but that was gone when it was out. He then stitched up that gum in both places.

I looked at my teeth while we took a break before the last one and they are weird. The top teeth have three roots and the bottom have two. Hm.

Dr. Hacking was great and everything went very well. His wife is an Optometrist and works just upstairs. One time he pulled a tooth out this kid's mouth and it flew and got stuck in his hair. He said actually stuck in his hair. So he went upstairs to see his wife and she said, "there is something in your hair..."

Last night and all of yesterday I was laying around sleeping but sometime in the early morning hours I woke up to use the bathroom. I had to run back to bed because my eyes were getting dark and I was going to pass out. It was crazy. Not enough food in me. Then woke up right after that feeling like barfing. Tom is so sweet and has been doing everything for me and really helping me with his. He got up and led the way and opened the toilet for me. Sorry if that's too much information. I dry-heaved for a while and nothing. Just sweating everywhere. Sorry if that's too much information too. From my birth control pill and not enough food? From the big pain med they gave me and warned me about feeling sick because I'm so small? I don't know but I had nothing in me to throw up. So that was nice.

This morning my left cheek is all swollen at the bottom and I'm trying to eat this yogurt. Strawberry yogurt and blood. Yum.

On a happier note and just so you know: I really love my body. I've been so blessed to be as healthy as I am and not have constant problems or even big random ones. When I get sick, it's not a big deal. And I would take cold sores and pimples over any other skin condition. I have all of my limbs and I can exercise and run and even one day this amazing body with make another body.  How blessed I am to be so healthy and able!

These mouth problems are really not so bad and I'm glad it's my only "health" "problem". I just thought I would share the fun times!

Movie time for me. :)

C Jane

For my post today you can watch this vlog from C Jane. I love her. It's so funny how she takes people's dumb or rude comments and has fun with them.

P.S. I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled today. :/

The Family

My family from Disney and Pixar movies:

Dad and Mom

I couldn't find a good couple to fit them...
Shrek and Fiona maybe:

Carl and Ellie from Up?:

WallE and Eve from WallE:

No... But this is Mom.
Edna Mode from The Incredibles:

And maybe Dad is grumpy Carl...

Or sweet Geri...

 HA!

Harley

Sorry but all of the tall, skinny and dark characters remind (us?) of Harley. But this sweet character is all of those things and catches his personality too. He even says, "I know, I'm disgusting. But one learns to love it."  Not that Harley is disgusting. He's just humorous!

PRESENTING
from Meet the Robinsons, the older Michael Goobian or "Goob":

Michael, Hannah and Gwinna

Hannah is the princess Michael treats her to be and they have a cute little princess baby Gwinna. They're a good team and the pan is used for cooking not hitting Michael...

PRESENTING
Flynn, Rapunzel and Pascal from Tangled:

Eldon

Hopefully he doesn't read this somehow and get offended... but why his character fits him is pretty self explanatory...

PRESENTING
Ken from Toy Story 3:

Tom and Lil

Tom's character is sweet and innocent like him and also strong. He treats me so well carrying me around in that thing and I smash heads that he places for me. "A little to the left."

PRESENTING
Kronk and Yzma from Emperor's New Groove:

Eli

Look at that guy flex! ... "I'm especially good at expectooorating!" ... "When I was lad I ate four dozen eggs ev'ry morning to help me get laaarge. And now that I'm grown I eat five dozen eggs so I'm roughly the siiize of a baaaaaarge!"

PRESENTING
Gaston from Beauty and the Beast:

Sophia

The no nonsense funny girl. "Keep your station clear or I will kill you!!" And she even carries pepper spray.

PRESENTING
from Ratatouille, Colette:

 Stanley

The boy with strange and stinky pets. Plus Stanley is the year of the dragon!

PRESENTING
Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon:
