All Dressed Up and No Place to Goooo

This all red bowl is not my best glaze job. It does have a nice open shape though and that red.

Here is what's left of the bubbly glaze that collected at the bottom. :/ Not too pretty.

And here are all three of my last ones that I'm so proud of. :)

And.
You wish this was your cookie jar.

Moonshine

This beauty is like the other with red and moonshine. It's a little bigger and less curved in at the top.So it's probably more functional.

Round

Here is the first of my last three bowls that I whipped out the last week before the last first firing. Whew.

This is the smallest and most round of the three.

The little bit of purple is what I was going for putting the moonshine blue on the tip top of the bowl.

Graduated!

At first Tom wasn't going to walk for his graduation and I didn't give him a hard time because I'm not going to walk when I graduate. But his best buddy Jessie talked him into it because he was doing it. Psh.

Then on the day of, Tom had a huge headache from the pressure in his sinuses being all full from a cold he had. So he wasn't going to go to commencement where he would have to stand for an hour an half then walk in and sit for an hour-without food or water. Then there was an hour break and he would sit for another hour to walk.

I didn't give him a hard time because I had to take my multivariable calculus test during commencement so I wasn't going to be there either. But his best buddy Jessie talked him into it at the last second because he was doing it. Psh.

So Tom went there and I took my test and I was done right at 8 so I could go see Tom walk. :D Except for I didn't get any good pictures. Maybe one. And I recorded some of it but I stopped recording too soon! :( Oh well. He'll graduate again one day. :)

I sat on the wrong side...

Walking up...

When they were waiting in line to walk up I ran over there and got this shot. I felt like a little school girl and like they were celebrities, "Can I take your picture now? hehe"

This is one of the big screens in the I-Center and Tom is in the little view... It's his turn to walk. This is where I stopped recording to get a picture. Psh. My pictures are all horrible.

Tom and Coach Christensen after their hug.  He told Tom to "keep working on those small ankles."

A little video...
I got a little emotional when they said "Thomas Anderson Barrett, exercise science." :') My little boy.

Tom's flower that I put in my awesome little vase found at D.I.

And his name... But he is not from Rexburg, it just says that because we're married and here. :P

This is for YOU

 Mom, Hannah and Sophia.

I know you're all probably so bored without me there so I thought I'd write a post for you to make it feel like I am there - minus the complaining about my horrible dentist experience. By the way I got some pieces of dead gum out when I flossed the other night. Oh yes.

As you know Hannah, I've been reading some of CJane's old posts. And she is so funny. Watch this of The Chief. It's so cute.

And if you want to be scared, read this! I kept looking over my shoulder when I was reading it like I did when I watched Castle when I would be home alone.

And Mom will laugh at the first part of this post.

I stole this picture from her.. Don't tell.
I know it probably seems like I have nothing better to do with my life than to read CJane's blog...  Tom pointed out that almost every semester around finals time I get a weird addiction. Alias one semester, Castle the next and this year it's blog reading. So when I should be studying, I'm wasting time.. No wonder I get so stressed. Idiot.

And tonight you can watch K-19 together!! There might be some parts of it that make you scrunch your face and cover your eyes... but it's good. The fact that it's a true story is what gets you. And Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson obviously.

Look at Dad try to cover himself from the camera. ha! And cute little Mom making her sand castles.

And I didn't forget about you Michael. :)
That helicopter was perfect for this!

Some good ones of Michael and Stanley...

The Temple

Today I didn't know if Tom would grab the car and pick me up or if I would be grabbing the car and picking him up when we were done on campus.
My phone died during class so I couldn't call and ask him.
When I got out of class from the Ricks building I didn't see the car waiting so I walked to the car which was over by the Health Center. No Tom. And then I remembered that we have a phone charger in the car. Oh good. I sat in the hot car for a while with my window down trying to plug my phone in. Then I looked up to see the girl that sits by me in my family foundations class (Sylvia?) coming to my window all smiley saying hi.
For a second I was thinking how do I know you again? Not too social am I.
She asked if I needed to be somewhere soon and I told her that I was just trying to find my husband. She asked if I could take her to the temple because she was trying to make the 4:30 session and it was 4:20 and she wouldn't make it if she walked the rest of the way. Of course I said of course.
Tom could wait, wherever he was.
She had announced in class that she was called to serve her mission in Honduras and had just been through the temple on Friday down in Salt Lake for her first time. She had already gone once since that and was trying to go as much as she could before she left.
I told her she was awesome.

Isn't it great when service opportunities come to you?
Service for the week. Check.

One time when Tom and I were driving down the temple hill towards home it was super windy and super cold and snowing so it was practically blizzard weather and had been all morning. On our way down we saw a girl
in a skirt
walking downhill
probably with wet hair.
Crazy lady. We stopped and gave her a ride to her apartment that was still a fairly long walk away. She got up all early that morning to walk uphill to go do baptisms for the dead in the crazy crazy cold and windy weather.
I told her she was awesome.

I only made these pretty because I was giving some away. And it was fun.

Jacob 5

Tom and I are reading Jacob 5 right now. The chapter with 77 verses.
Every time I read this chapter I'm reminded of an experience I had with it years ago. I wish I could remember how old I was and how old Stanley was. Anyone?
One year when we went to Tahoe for our family reunion Hannah was at school or doing a summer thing at BYU or BYUI?
Dad had to pick her up in Reno a couple nights into the week. I don't where Sophia was sleeping but Hannah was going to sleep in the same bed I was in so I slept in the bed by myself while Stanley was actually sleeping on the floor in that room. He had this mini couch that folded out a little to use as a head and upper body pillow. He was so young and cute.
At this time I was reading in Jacob 5 and at this time I read my scriptures every night.
So I was reading one night and I don't remember if he asked me to read to him or if I asked if he wanted me to read to him, but either way he actually wanted me to read to him.
So I did.
And now I always think of that when I'm reading that long chapter of Jacob 5.

Backwards boy!

Plates

Tom did these:
They are awesome. The little one with some blue on it is practically flat top and bottom because of all the glaze Tom put on it but I like it that way. The big one on top got that crack in it in the early stages of the process but Tom still wanted to fire and glaze it. It's pretty cool. The red one with black is shaped just like a store bought plate. Perfect.
