Go to a Chiropractor

The other week when Tom and I were at the beach I wanted to get my hair wet and go all the way under water. It always takes me a while to actually go under but when I finally went under I came up to a bunch of tiny fish swimming all around me! Hundreds of them kept swimming past us. It was pretty cool. Turns out there are always a few of those little fish swimming around our feet close to the beach.

 Drying laundry and star fruit!

Tom has been studying the back in his anatomy class so in their lab they were talking about why someone would have back pain. The group leader asked them what could be done about back pain. Tom said, wearing his Hilmar Chiropractic shirt, "Go to a chiropractor." The lady said, "Uhh ya, chiropractor..." And a guy in Tom's group said, "You're not supposed to mention chiropractors in med school."
 Oh boy.

Ants

Our first Sunday here we were still figuring out the buses and missed our first bus. We walked to the bus stop where different bus route buses drive by to wait for another one. While we were standing in the sun sweating and waiting I was attacked by ants.

They were smaller than regular ants, like these ones in the Barbados airport.

Here is Barbados from the sky before we landed there.

We were there for quite a few hours playing Pocket Tanks and I-Spy... Toward the end of our stay an Australian girl asked me if I had a phone with email on it because she wanted to get in touch with her sister who was meeting her in Grenada from Trinidad. Someone had told her that people were shot there so she was worried about her sister.

We saw our Australian friend again after we went grocery shopping the next day. Then again the day after that on Grand Anse beach. Her sister is her twin sister! They're off the island now but that was fun to see them a couple times.

Those ants I was attacked by were all over my feet and ankle. They gave me red dots everywhere for some of church but they went away.

Welcome to Grenada (gri-ney-duh)!

Tom and I will be living in Grenada, West Indies or Caribbean for the next 22 months for Medical Schooling. Here are some photos from our first week here...

BEACHES

Our church building is in this picture. Gray, almost right in the middle.

And here it is looking toward the beach.

See that little crab, with his little black eyes, halfway in his hole? There are a lot of them.

 Happy Birthday Mom Barrett!

 Swinging :)

This bench is on our walk to the beach. I love it.

CAMPUS

This campus is on a steeper hill than BYU-Idaho!

 Orientation

Tom's books for his first term and notes for the first half of the first term. Yay!

 SCHOOL BUSES

"Tupac is a legend but Jesus is alive and he saves"

This was a quick shot. The head in the lower left corner is our driver getting some food.
"Mello's Golden Crust BAKERY Dey say we are the best in: Bread, Cakes & Pastries"

Four

Yesterday was our four year anniversary.

Tom came home from his work out and told me to close my eyes and hold my hands out. Asian Pears!

We went to the dentist and I received a clean bill of teeth health. And movie tickets.

I took our wedding cake top out of the freezer...

We each had a tiny sliver of it. Yum.

Then we had dinner with Tom's friend Terri and his wife and six kids. It was also Terri's 40th birthday so we got some homemade carrot cake and ice cream. Terri's brother, Tom and his family joined us too. Tom trained both brothers.

Here's our bed for our last days in Rexburg.
