Well, the weather outside is frightful.
And we have ice inside our apart around the windows. Insulation, I guess.
This morning the power went out for about four hours. Our room was so dark when I woke up. So I didn't want to get up - double time. Usually there is a light shining in our room from outside. But what? No light in our room? Odd.
And then I realized... Since it doesn't seem to be just our light post that has stopped working, the power must be out! Yay! So I got up to blow my nose and no light. Yes! I lit candles and stood up flashlights so I could put my eyebrows on for a class that probably wasn't going to happen.
We drove up to campus even though campus security was calling Tom's phone probably saying classes were cancelled. This was a city-wide power outage. And classes didn't start up again until 11:30. My last class ends at 11:15.
So I got to stay home and wash the dishes, read about math, finish making my honeycomb, do some laundry, do some math, work out a little, read, eat... you know, the usual stuff.
I got nine emails from the school saying that the power is out (or is back on) and classes will resume at 11:30 (or 10:15) and if you're cold come to the I-Center. I also got an email from my Complex Analysis teacher that started, "As you recover from the sadness of class cancellation, I thought you might want an update." She is a funny one.
Here is the honeycomb I made! Thanks for the candy thermometer. :)
Flat, but still a little airy. It is goooood.
Light bulb! I should pour it into my round cake pan next time. Then they will be thicker pieces. Even though the flatness of these make them easy to eat..
I need a new calendar.
